Cathy Youngling: California Real Estate & Homes - Marin County

Marin can hold its head up high, even with its famous neighbor to the south holding a great reputation for fine dining. Marin has some of the best restaurants in the west.

The links here take you to five of our favorite restaurants. Poggios is a little “European style” sidewalk cafe in Sausalito. Sam’s Anchor Cafe is set on the water in Tiburon. Use their live cam to see how crowded or cool the deck is looking before you head over for lunch or brunch. The Buckeye Roadhouse in Mill Valley was fashioned from an old German Restaurant. It now serves great California fare. FISH is an awesome new restaurant at the Clipper Yacht Harbor. Here you sit outside (dogs welcome) for some truly fresh and fabulous seafood. Their website also has a livecam from above the ordering station. Finally rounding out our top five is The Lark Creek Inn, with warm American fare done so well it seemed like the finest cuisine in the world.

These five are not the only choices. People in Marin are very spoiled with outstanding variety and quality. Here are the names of some other restaurants we love… Pancho Villas – Fairfax, Rho Thai – Kentfield, Il Davides – San Rafael, Wild Fox – Novato, Mill Valley Wok, Feng Nian – Sausalito, Bayside Cafe – Sausalito, and Jason’s – Greenbrae, frankly the list goes on and on. If you have a favorite restaurant that I haven’t mentioned, email me and I will go and check it out! This is research I would very much enjoy doing.
